We are currently seeking an experienced Survey CAD Technician. The successful candidate will be a dynamic and technologically-savvy individual who will help provide technical and application support for our surveying group. As a Survey CAD Technician, you will be assisting with review and drafting of survey field notes and survey data. Experience working with topographic and utility survey data preferred. Matrix field crews utilize conventional and laser scanning field collection methods and experience with point cloud data is an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpreting field notes and sketches, assist in downloading and processing conventional and GPS field data
  • Research boundary and easement record title documents and provide preliminary boundary analysis
  • Use AutoCAD Civil 3D software to analyze field data, and record title documents and produce survey-related mapping including boundary surveys, topographic surveys, plat maps, records of survey, as-built drawings and other maps or exhibits.
  • Prepare legal descriptions, exhibits and reports for boundaries, easements, and parcel acquisition
  • Interacting professionally and effectively with the client(s) and project managers on CAD-related issues
  • Providing ongoing CAD support to designers and CAD Leads

Requirements:

  • Associate Degree in a technical program, a BS degree in Surveying is preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with AutoCAD as a Survey Technician
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is required
  • Certification as an LSIT is a plus
  • Must possess good verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent attention to detail
  • Must be able to prioritize and multi-task effectively under pressure of deadlines
  • Experience with scanning and point cloud data is a plus
  • Experience with Bentley MicroStation is preferred
  • Experience with Leica field and office software is preferred
  • Project experience with public utilities, energy services, and transportation is a preferred
  • Experience working with digital AutoCAD 3D surface models and contouring preferred
