Matrix is seeking an experienced Survey Project Manager to participate in survey projects throughout New York and New Jersey. The successful candidate will be an experienced and qualified land surveyor, preferably licensed in NY and/or NJ, who will become an integral part of the land survey department working closely with other Project Managers, AutoCAD staff and survey field crews. As a Survey Project Manager you will be responsible for the efficient management of various survey projects in the NY and NJ areas.
Responsibilities:
- Management of various projects, survey crews and associated data.
- Full understanding of project requirements and preparation of tasks for survey crews and CAD staff
- Deed and easement research, boundary analysis, preparation of metes and bounds descriptions
- Understand survey and engineering calculations and provide instructions to field and office staff in data collection methods and CAD deliverables associated with boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, topographic and utility surveys, route surveys, railroad surveys, construction layout and as-built surveys
- Understand accuracy and agency specific survey standards required in the field.
- Knowledge and understanding of various agency CAD standards and deliverable requirements
- Interpreting field notes and sketches, downloading and processing of conventional and GNSS field data as well as laser scan point cloud data in preparation for drafting
- Provide quality control of all survey related data and products
- Provide reports to clients on project status and deliverables
- Track project budget status and manage effectively and efficiently
- Interacting professionally and effectively with client(s) and other Project Managers, CAD staff and Matrix management
Requirements:
- NY and/or NJ Licensed Land Surveyor preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in survey technology preferred
- CAD proficiency preferred
- Experience with scanning and point cloud data is preferred
- Experience with Leica field and office software is preferred
- Experience with NYC and NYS Agency standards, including DDC, MTA, DEP and DOT preferred
- CAD related construction layout experience preferred
- Must possess good verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent attention to detail
- Must be able to prioritize and multi-task effectively under pressure of deadlines
- Self-starter, with the ability to work independently
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills
