Key Responsibilities:

  • Builds and leads a team of marine, civil, and structural engineers.
  • Engineer of record with licensure in New York and/or New Jersey, with an ability to obtain in more states.
  • Manage project design and delivery for multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Manage technical design and staff for a wide variety of public and private projects and types of new and rehabilitated structures.
  • Provide overall project management of select projects and support of other design teams (geotechnical, civil, etc.) as warranted.
  • Serve as a technical expert for internal and external clients.
  • Serve as Resident Engineer for internal and external projects.
  • Prepare and support business proposals.
  • Participate in marketing and business development initiatives.

The successful candidate will have broad experience that encompasses a wide array of marine and structural engineering projects, such as:

  • Waterfront structures, including bulkheads (cantilevered and tie-back with internal or external walls), piers, low-level and high-level relieving platforms, docks, fendering systems, ferry landings, engineered shorelines, rip rap revetments, and ports terminals.
  • Site structures, including retaining walls, decks, footings, and foundations.
  • Coastal engineering calculations, including wave environment analysis.

The following additional types of project experiences are a plus:

  • Living shorelines and eco-restoration projects.
  • Drainage systems, outfalls, and green infrastructure.
  • Grant and/or FEMA 404, 406, and 428 funding implementation.
  • NYC permitting, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC), Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE), NYCDOB, and SBS Waterfront Permitting.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, structural, or marine engineering
  • Professional Engineer Licensure (PE)
  • 15+ years of experience
  • Ability to work on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state-of-the-art technical or industry knowledge.
